There are still about 65% of the people out there across our fruited plain that think Obamacare is a piece of crap. Most want to see it either “repealed and replaced” as the GOP in congress like to say, or they want to see it dismantled altogether. It’s never been a popular program to the majority of Americans. The main reason is, while it gives insurance to the poor, which is fine, it only gives insurance to the poor…it doesn’t give them access to anything. And it makes everybody actually buy something that isn’t worth anything. It’d be like if congress passed a law that every American had to pay me $10,000 just to be able to read this blog every day. I doubt there’d be many takers without being forced.
Most people in this country still get their healthcare insurance through their employers, but it’s changed, deductibles and co-pays have gone up. Out of pocket maximums that never figured into the equation before, are on everyone’s list today. And if you want to go back to that old plan you had a few years ago, where you went to the doctor and never saw a bill…it’s going to be $700 a pay period deduction from your salary.
But Obamacare is set to fail….because of Obamacare. The worst thing for Bobo Obama is if the GOP actually wins the White House. See, they put in this little thing that starting in 2017, the president (they assumed it would be a Democrat), would be able to lift large chunks of Obamacare on his own, without a congressional vote, if he or she deemed that a state had decided to go beyond Obamacare and would therefore be MORE progressive than the healthcare law. But it doesn’t say the state needs to be more progressive…just that they are going to do something with healthcare on their own. So, basically if a state has a Republican governor, and a Republican wins the White House, those states could in essence, have Obamacare repealed. And if you’re going to repeal Obamacare in say 30 states, the entire thing unravels because not everybody is going to be taking part in it.
And that is the dirty little secret that Obama has been fretting about. It’s something that he’d LOVE to see changed by congress, but this congress isn’t going to do a damn thing to change it. It would unravel the healthcare plan and allow every state to manage its own healthcare insurance however it saw fit…which is how it should be in the first place.
So, make sure you get to the polls and elect whomever the GOP nominates. It’s one way you’re going to be assured that Obamacare goes the way of Obama!
Carry on world…you’re dismissed!
