Barack Obama by winning the Iran Deal, though not through congress has cemented his legacy. And no…it has very little to do with the actual deal struck with Iran over nuclear stockpiles. It has to do with the way he’s proceeding on many different issues, like the climate change hoax.
Obama is deciding not to go to congress to get bills passed…he’s going to go to a higher power for the next 14 months. He’s going to take things to the United Nations.
Congress, is basically going to become irrelevant. It actually has been irrelevant for the past six and a half years. That’s because Harry Reid wouldn’t let anything get voted on in the Senate, and once the GOP took over both houses of congress, Obama decided that it would be easier to sway world opinion (which is already way left of center) than to go after working with a Republican congress. What Obama saw happen in the Iran Nuclear Deal case was a precursor for things to come.
If he got the UN to back removing sanctions from Iran, it would be relatively easy to get the United States to do the same. Because even if the US decided not to adhere to the agreement, the rest of the world would open up to Iran, and they’d be able to get their goods elsewhere. It’s kind of like the same strategy that had been employed by us with Cuba. No, we couldn’t travel to Cuba, or import any products from there, but the rest of the world did. Did it really hurt Cuba? Nope. Had we maintained relations with them, maybe they wouldn’t be driving around in 1950 Ford cars, but they’d certainly not be any better off.
And Obama is banking that the same strategy will work with climate change. Of course, he’s wrong (as usual). It won’t work because if we decide to forego any climate change legislation proposed next year due to the UN’s meeting in December in France, we just don’t do it. The rest of the world can, but we don’t have to follow it. Oh, the UN likes to make sure that they get everyone in the world to sign on to their “rules”, but they don’t have the force of law in this country. And I really hope congress doesn’t get stuck in the thinking that we have to pass climate change rules as a last legacy of this lunatic.
It’s an interesting strategy, but it only works when you agree with the rest of the world. It probably will work in the Middle East, because Obama is happy to give that to the Russians to deal with. He doesn’t want to have anything to do with engaging our troops. He’s had enough war….remember, he’s the guy that ends war, not starts them. Of course, if Russia does it to capture the Middle East’s oil supply, his tune would probably change. And the UN would most likely allow Russia to take over the Middle East.
Somehow, Obama keeps trying to find ways to skirt the constitution. So far, very little of it has worked. That’s because you can’t skirt the constitution permanently. And Obama will find that out if there is a Republican elected president next November. You’re going to see a flurry of executive orders signed between November and January 20th…and then a flurry of executive orders recused on January 21st. And Obama will get the legacy that he deserves…a wasted presidency.
Carry on world…you’re dismissed!
