I think if you’ve spent any time what-so-ever reading my blog, you can understand relatively quickly that I’m not a fan of Hillary Clinton. I don’t like her as a person. I don’t like her as a politician. I don’t like her for a serious candidate for the White House. Suffice to say, I think she’s trailer park trash…very RICH trailer park trash.
Having said all of that, I do find it necessary this morning to come to her defense. Gennifer Flowers (of the 12 year affair with Bill Clinton) has stated on a radio program that she feels that since Hillary is running for president, all of Bill Clinton’s illicit affairs should be open for discussion once again. Frankly, my take on this is that Gennifer Flowers is looking for a way to get back into the spotlight that was turned off on her 15 years ago when Billy Boy left office.
Flowers’ move to want to dredge up something we’ve already discussed ad nauseam isn’t valid. We’ve already talked about it. The president was impeached pretty much over his inability to keep it in his pants, and he’s out of office. It’s not Bill Clinton that is running for office, it’s his wife. And just like we shouldn’t be going after the wife of a political candidate unless, like Hillary, they are wanting to be thrust into the politics of the office, then the first lady shouldn’t be part of the discussion. Hillary violated that when she commented on 60 Minutes that “You elect him, and you get me too”, and then proceeded to change the world of healthcare.
But it’s not Hillary or her campaign that we’re talking about in Flowers’ case. It’s her husband. And unless and until he gets involved with politics again (and let’s face it, he can’t run for president again unless the constitution changes), he’s not a player in this discussion. So Gennifer can leave the spotlight off, and leave the rest of us alone. I think we’ve been there enough and don’t need to revisit that piece of stench in our history.
Now, if Hillary wants Bill to be part of her cabinet, or wants to include his in someway as her Chief of Staff, then by all means, he becomes relevant again, and his past is open for discussion. So far, I haven’t heard anything like that other than one very stupid remark by Hillary that she “toyed with the idea of making Bill Vice President”, but she couldn’t do that because he couldn’t succeed her if need be. Actually, he CAN be Vice President. There is nothing that says he can’t. He just can’t ascend to the office of President should the need arise. He’d be by-passed and the Speaker of the House of Representatives would automatically become the new President.
No, Hillary should be allowed to screw up her own presidential run without dredging up Bill’s affairs. Granted, if you want to talk about her being an enabler of him, I’m ok with that. But you don’t need to bring out the bimbo’s for this campaign. They are history…ancient history…and best they stay there.
Carry on world…you’re dismissed!
