The Reason Behind Trump’s Success?

To hear Matthew MacWilliams tell it in Politico, there is only one reason (actually two) that Donald Trump is leading the GOP field, and it should give whoever comes out of the Democrats’ nomination race reason to worry. He has narrowed down Trump’s key component that all of his followers have into one (or two) simple words…”authoritarianism”.

I had to go back and re-read that thing two or three times to make sure I wasn’t seeing things. It doesn’t matter what party you belong to. It doesn’t matter your gender or age. It doesn’t matter how much money you make. The reason Donald Trump is doing as well as he is and is confounding the rest of the candidates and the pundits boils down to people that like a strong leader and want to be lead. That’s the reason. Oh…the other reason? An inordinate fear of terrorism.

There you have it. And if that is the reason behind Trump’s success and MacWilliams isn’t just writing a puff piece on a rather liberal website, then the issue is clear. Donald Trump will be the next president of the United States. Hillary Clinton is proving daily that she is not authoritarian. Neither is Bernie Sanders. While both have strengths and weaknesses, neither can claim to be a strong leader. Oh, Hillary can claim to be a strong woman. But a strong leader? Nope. Not even close. And there is no one else in the Republican field that can make that claim. Maybe Chris Christie, but no one else. Not John Kasich, who is a governor of a popular and swing-state. Not Marco Rubio or Ted Cruz, because you’re not a strong leader if you’re one of a hundred people. Not Jeb! Bush who has proven time and time again to be wimpier than either his brother or his father. Only Donald Trump. And I’m saying that not as a Trump supporter, but it makes sense.

Think of this. If America’s top issue in the campaign right now is terrorism (and it is), then you want someone that is decisive and a strong leader. That would be totally opposite of what we have in the White House in Bobo Obama. He has proven to be indecisive when it comes to terrorism, and totally devoid of any leadership ability. Leaders get people to follow them. Obama is on an island by himself. He can’t work with congress…he can’t work with the media. He can’t work with anybody except the people that are as far left on the spectrum as he is. And America is tired of that. They want a strong leader from the get-go. Trump demonstrates that above all else. The rest of his blather, his name calling, his outlandish ideas, are things people are willing to look past because the only thing they want is a person that can lead. And that is Donald Trump’s shining strength. The man does command respect, I’ll give him that much.

Hillary and Bernie, I know you probably have understood this already, but you had better be scared. You’d better wish that your opponent win the nomination. The winner of the Democrats’ nominating process will forever be branded a loser.

Carry on world…you’re dismissed!

  2. The real reason for Trump’s success in three words, “pissed off honkies.” There you have it without any excess verbiage. Now if you do not mind it is time for a beer from BOM brewery Nieuweporters From Hell.

Carry on United States, Belgium is beer heaven and they have beer for that.
