Liberals’ Fallacy

I’m sure the conservatives aren’t 100% correct on a lot of things. I know for instance that feeding ketchup to school kids and calling it a vegetable as has been done in the past isn’t right. That’s wrong. But I know there is an underlying fallacy when it comes to liberalism. And I’m sure you’ve heard by now the tired line, “The problem with liberalism is, it never succeeds because it always runs out of money.” That is a very tried and true line (albeit tired). But there is an underlying problem with liberalism that goes deeper than that.

Liberals are believers that government can fix any problem.

That myth (and it IS a myth) is what blows up liberalism every time. Oh yeah, the money aspect of it is important, but government is the only entity in the world that can actually afford to do what liberals want, and that’s why they seek it. But the fact of the matter, and it IS an undeniable fact…governments do certain things well, and they really, really suck at most other things.

Let’s examine that point, because it’s crucial. Governments overall, do a good job at providing for a country’s defense (and again, I’m speaking in general terms here, not talking about the US specifically). Generally, the governments do a decent job at printing money, at maintaining infrastructure, and maintaining their borders (and you can tell I’m not talking about the US now, right?). They create and enact laws to better protect people to a point. I say to a point because they have a tendency when liberals get involved of over-doing everything.

When liberals get involved, they keep trying to push the envelope. Take the VA. The government is terrible at administering healthcare. Veterans Administrations hospitals are some of the worst in existence. And Obamacare is a nightmare of unbridled proportions. Social Security is a fraud. It’s really a Ponzi scheme whereby the current workers are paying those that have retired. And we don’t have enough workers anymore to cover the baby boomers. Medicare and Medicaid fall into the healthcare debacle.

Then there is stuff that is better left to the states like the founding fathers said we should. I’m thinking stuff like education, labor, and health and human services. Those are things states have a much better handle on than a federal government. And there are literally hundreds of other agencies like that which have created this bloated monolith that can’t hardly move. Liberalism creates bureaucracy, that’s what it does because liberals believe governments can solve all of the world’s problems, which it can’t. You can’t legislate morality. You can’t legislate freedom. You can’t legislate intelligence. And when governments try, they fail. They fail at the city level, they fail at the state level, and they fail at the federal level.

Look at the situation Venezuela finds itself in now. Is it because of the United States? No, it’s because Hugo Chavez, and Nicolas Maduro’s liberal beliefs are meeting the resistance of money vs. availability. The same has happened in Europe. The same has happened in Asia. It’s a world-wide phenomenon. And, given the chance, it will happen here to the world’s number one economy.

You can’t give free college education, $15 minimum wage for school kids with after-school jobs, and healthcare for all and not have a consequence. But liberals don’t understand that. They think if they can just take the money from the 1%, and spread it around, all will be happy. Of course, you lose the drive of the 1% which makes the other 99% wealthier by giving them jobs. And of course, they can afford to find the loopholes (which always exist). No, liberals in government is a fallacy. It’s being proven in every single country that has liberal leadership. I just pray to God that it doesn’t happen here too!

Carry on world…you’re dismissed!

  1. Well Desert, I see you continue with the troika of whining, Obama and anything related to him, Hillary and anything related to her and L:iberals. I don’t know about you but it is getting real old real quick, but then I expect this sort of verbal diarrhea from Republicans. So, let’s see what is stuck in your craw today.

Conservatives are mostly right and liberals are always wrong. Your example of the ketchup episode from the Ronnie movie years is the only thing you could come up with, not negotiating with terrorist (something he said he would never do), selling armaments to our sworn enemy (treason according to my copy of the Constitution), trying to overthrow a duly elected government by waging a secret war (in violation of the law, impeachable if was Obama), destroying for the most part the S&L industry and adding several trillion to the debt in the process. Naw, only ketchup is the big conservative failure.

First whipping boy is the VA, the only thing mentioned more than e-mails and Benghazi. Actually veterans overall praise the care by the VA, only the right wing and Grandpa McCrackey play it in tight rotation. they also never mention the underfunding? Why is that, because the Republicans want to privatize it, just like they want to do with Medicaid and Medicare. Don’t deny it because you have already said that would be preferable in a previous post.

Social Security is a Ponzi scheme according to you and I believe the Texas Christ warrior, Ted Cruz and his lying sack of shit father. Actually Social Security is insurance and this is how insurance works, but then I admit I do not know crap about running radio station so I don’t pass judgment on it, aside from saying that if Reagan didn’t repeal the fairness doctrine, Sean Hannity would still be spinning Steely Dan and Lynyrd Skynrd albums in Hempstead, NY. Since you believe it is a Ponzi scheme and don’t want to be a part of it, I presume that you will not be collecting Social Security, because you really don’t want to be a part of a Ponzi scheme. That leaves more for me, thank you.

States are better equipped to handle education, labor and health and human services. You have to be kidding me! Look at the State of Arizona, the legislature violated their own constitution on education short changing and grifted the public into believing that a new constitutional amendment was a good deal because education was owed $1.4 billion and settled for 25 cents on a dollar. Don’t get me started on how the First Responders pensions got so totally fucked (sorry, but that is true) by these tax fattened hyenas while Gov. Dopey, Michelle Reagan (I’m an expert on elections), the legislature and Sheriff Blow’s are untouched. Labor, if Arizona had its way they would bring back indentured servitude but it is precluded thankfully by the U.S. Constitution, so they will go for a $1.25/hour wage instead. Health and human services, don’t be poor or you will not get crap. Somehow the legislature believes health insurance for children is a bad idea, logic that really escapes me, but a business wants to relocate to Arizona, Gov. Dopey has the money helicopter all gassed up and ready to drop millions. How’s Sam Brownback’s Kansas working out, you know, the crucible of conservatism? I read recently that long time Republicans who voted twice for this clown are NOW having second thoughts. Essentially they want to tar and feather him then run him out of the State on a rail wrapped in electrified barb wire. Couldn’t happen to bigger idiot and a stupid population.

College (public) use to be in reach of everyone, myself included. My total cost for everything and I mean everything cost me $5,000, and a great return I received on that investment. Today you would be lucky to get a semester for $5,000.

You are correct that we cannot solve all the world’s problems, but you can legislate equality, freedom (Civil Rights and Voting Rights Act). Read the preamble again and see what it says.

To my Belgian buddy Alex, Happy Birthday.
