When you decide you’re going to run for President of the United States, you don’t just wake up one morning and say to your spouse, “Gee, I think I’m going to announce my candidacy today”. You start YEARS ahead. Sometimes a decade or more. And you plan everything out meticulously. You can’t leave any little thing to chance, and you have to make sure that as you’re doing it, you don’t fall into any traps.
Hillary Clinton forgot that piece of advice. She fell into several. And it may cost her the election.
Oh, she’s planned for running for eight years. After Obama beat her for the nod in 2008, she KNEW she’d come back in 2016 and run again, right? Of course she did. Her problem is what she did in the meantime. She took a job in the administration for the first four years that was supposed to cement her position as a leader…someone we could all trust. After all, trust has been a major issue with these two southern hicks for quite some time. They’ve been caught in more lies than pretty much everybody in Washington put together. So what were Hillary’s mistakes?
When you step into a role of Secretary of State, you have to understand that you are going to have to have some major breakthroughs somewhere during your tenure in order to claim leadership qualities. She had none. She had failure after failure. We saw a glimpse of what a Clinton presidency would be like foreign policy-wise, and it ain’t pretty. Look at the United States’ reaction to the Arab Spring in Egypt. Look at our reaction to it in Libya (before Benghazi). Look at our strategy in Syria. Look at our strategy with Russia (a Russian Re-Set? Really???). And of course, the glaring coup d’état in Benghazi. Time and time again, Hillary Clinton has proven she’s not a leader and that her vision of foreign policy is a blatant miscalculation. She’s just plain wrong, and it’s helped to get us where we are today.
Now, add to that the current problems she’s facing and the email problems that still to this day persist, and you’ve got a situation that stings like a hornet’s nest. The mere fact that a sitting US Secretary of State would be so stupid as to forego a governmental email address for a home-brew, unprotected server, and do national security business over it is appalling. It reeks of self-indulgence and self-importance at the expense of the country’s security. And it was another just plain stupid move. Let’s move past that and explore the next phase.
The Clinton Foundation is now under the scrutiny of the IRS for a number of allegations including pay to play, which if found to be true, would be treasonous on Hillary’s part. The mere thought a person that high up in the government would sell favors to a foreign power (like the Russian uranium deal?) in exchange for speaking engagements and donations to their foundation is incredulous. This whole foundation stinks from one end to the other with taint, as does everyone that’s involved with it. Now, don’t go telling me there’s nothing to it. We’ve heard all of this with the Clintons for 25 years and more. Either they are wonderfully great at getting the noose off their neck and on to someone else’s neck, or they are the slimiest couple that came up the Potomac since Teapot Dome.
You can’t make mistakes like this and survive the ordeal that is a presidential election. Even with a buffoon of a candidate like a Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton can’t win and isn’t doing very well. That in and of itself should be enough to say she’s not qualified to be president!
Carry on world…you’re dismissed!
