Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are FREE at last!
Today I thank those of you that are in Florida, and North Carolina, and Wisconsin, and Ohio, and Michigan, and Pennsylvania, and the good folks out here in Arizona, and the other 23 states (which is 30 states out of 50 for you Hillary supporters out there…a CLEAR majority!) who voted in Donald Trump as president. Now, as you know and I’ve said many times, I’m NOT a huge Donald Trump fan. I voted for him only because there was no other option. And I did NOT think he was the best alternative to Hillary Clinton, but he was the best alternative that was running.
I know in my heart of hearts that this nation would have been perilously close to collapse had we had to endure another four years of Obamaesque rule, which is what we would have been forced to endure under Hillary. And while she’s going to be at Trump’s inauguration today, and then probably drowning her sorrows in two boxes of cheap wine, I can assure you we are all better off with him taking the oath of office instead of her.
But today isn’t about Hillary Clinton and her scandals. It’s not about her Parkinson’s Disease. It’s not about her losing the election because she was such a terrible candidate. It’s about Donald Trump and what he is going to do to reverse the crap we’ve had to deal with for the past eight years. It means there is hope for change…not just some ad agency slogan. It means that there will be changes to the issues that Americans as a whole disliked and disapproved of, even though they personally thought the guy that dreamed them up was a “nice guy”, and they’d like to have a beer with him.
Today is the day we celebrate freedom. Freedom from oppressive rules and regulations. Freedom from burdensome taxes. Freedom from ruling by fiat. Freedom from an out of control judicial system that believes legislation from the bench is legal, solely because congress failed to “do its duty” to act as they thought congress should act. And it’s a day to wave good-bye to eight years of non-existent leadership. Leadership that included only a couple of victories, but many victory laps. It included too many instances of trash-talking, and not enough instances of guidance, ability, heart, and intelligence. We wave good-bye to the inane thought processes of socialism, and bury it forever (hopefully!). As the left mourns, and continues to protest, and tries to delegitimize Donald Trump, I say let them wallow in their sorrows for as long as they like. They won’t change the future and won’t be a part of the solution as long as they are wallowing. So the Barbara Streisand’s, and Michael Moore’s, and Rosie O’Donnell’s of the world can continue to cry and make PSA’s and protest. It won’t matter. We have won. We are victorious. We are waving adios to the worst president in American history today.
And it feels wonderful!
Carry on world…you’re dismissed!
